Eluta.ca trumps Monster.ca for job search traffic

Logs over 730,000 unique visitors in Feb.

Popular job search engine Eluta.ca has overtaken Monster.ca Job Search as one of Canada's most-visited online job search destinations. The data, just released by comScore Inc., indicated that Eluta.ca had 730,930 unique visitors in February, compared to 671,469 for Monster.ca Job Search.

"More Canadians are looking for the high quality, full-time jobs that Eluta delivers," says Kim Peters, President & CEO of Eluta Inc. "Our job search engine delivers a better user experience because our jobs are linked directly to employers' websites and we don't include postings from employment agencies or job boards."

The February comScore data showed across-the-board gains for Eluta.ca, which also surpassed Monster.ca Job Search on multiple usage and duration metrics, including total visits, page views, and average time spent by per visitor. "This traffic record confirms a trend we've seen for some time," says Tony Meehan, the Chairman and Founder of Eluta Inc. "In the same way job boards began replacing newspapers a decade ago, specialized search engines like Eluta.ca are now replacing the job boards."

Unlike traditional job boards, Eluta.ca is a search engine that lets job-seekers search employers' websites directly. The site uses a combination of human editing and sophisticated mathematical algorithms to index thousands of new full-time jobs across Canada every week, making them instantly searchable. The site is free for job-seekers and includes jobs at no charge for employers. Eluta.ca also includes exclusive editorial reviews from the annual Canada's Top 100 Employers project, allowing job-seekers to evaluate what it's like to work at the employers they find on the search engine. In February, there were 29,701 new full-time jobs listed on Eluta.ca, directly from employers' websites.
