Synchronica acquires iseemedia

Synchronica, the international provider of push email, instant messaging and social networking services, announces, further to its announcement of 24 December 2010, that following approval by the TSX Venture Exchange on 5 January 2011, the Company has acquired the remaining interest in iseemedia by way of an amalgamation, such that iseemedia is now a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Company.

The Amalgamation of iseemedia with Synchronica Canada Inc. (a wholly owned subsidiary of the Company) was effective under the Canada Business Corporations Act on 6 January 2011.

As none of the shareholders of iseemedia has exercised dissent rights with respect to the Amalgamation, on the effective date of the Amalgamation each issued and outstanding iseemedia share (other than those held by dissenting shareholders of iseemedia or Synchronica Canada Inc.) was converted into 0.2687 of a share of the Company.

iseemedia shareholders are requested to return their iseemedia common share certificates to Computershare Investor Services Inc., together with the Letter of Transmittal enclosed with the management proxy circular of iseemedia dated November 25, 2010, to receive their new share certificates of Synchronica.The detailed instructions for the surrender of share certificates and the address of Computershare Investor Services Inc. are set out in the Letter of Transmittal.iseemedia shareholders are also advised that no fractional shares of Synchronica will be issued in connection with the Amalgamation. Motorola, Bell to bring ATRIX to Canada

Rogers Communications acquires Atria Networks

Rogers Communications Inc. has announced that it has completed the previously announced acquisition of Atria Networks LP, owner and operator of one of Ontario's largest fibre-optic networks. The transaction closed on January 4, 2011 following approval by the Competition Bureau. Atria Networks was previously privately held by Birch Hill Equity Partners.

The purchase of Atria Networks, based in Kitchener, Ontario, augments the Rogers Business Solutions offering by enhancing its ability to deliver on-net data centric services within and adjacent to the company's cable footprint.

The acquisition strategically fits with Rogers' enterprise strategy to offer on-net, high growth data services to small and medium sized businesses. Atria's unique and scalable network includes 5,600 fibre route kilometers and over 3,800 on-net buildings in high-growth Ontario territories. Atria serves over 1,100 customers spanning the public sector, enterprise and carrier providers. Top of Page

Kik welcomes three millionth user

Kik Messenger, the lightning fast, cross-platform mobile instant messaging service, has Kik'd off 2011 with its three millionth user, Kik Interactive Inc.

Re-launched on Oct. 21, 2010, the Kik community continues to grow by 10-15,000 users a day. The growth rate, driven by Android and iPhone users, has held steady even though new BlackBerry downloads ended in late November.

"We are excited that so many people all over the world have embraced Kik and are more confident than ever of our future as the mobile community of choice for smartphone users," said Ted Livingston, President and CEO, Kik Interactive, Inc. D-Box Technologies to debut motion technology

D-BOX Technologies Inc., a leader in innovative motion technology, has announced its first agreement with CineLux Theatres to equip its Morgan Hill, California theatre with 28 D-BOX MFX Seats.

Cinelux Tennant Station Stadium 11 will introduce D-BOX's technology January 14 with the debut of the 3D action-comedy, The Green Hornet. Peter Tassiopoulos appointed CEO of Biosign

Biosign Technologies Inc. has announced that its Chief Operating Officer, Peter Tassiopoulos, will succeed Radu Leca as Chief Executive Officer effective today. The announcement finalizes a transition process that has been planned for several months. The appointment was proposed by Dr. Leca and unanimously adopted by the Board of Directors. Dr. Leca will continue to serve as the President of Biosign.

Mr. Tassiopoulos has served as Biosign Technologies' Chief Operating Officer since 2009. Mr. Tassiopoulos has over 20 years of experience in business development, sales management, global distribution networks and marketing alliances with Avaya, France Telecom, Bell Canada, Mitel, and GE Healthcare. A recognized expert in digital healthcare technology, Mr. Tassiopoulos has served on various panels at the United Nations, including Mobile Health Management.

Corus Radio picks VersaPay's payment solutions

Peter Read announces 2011retirement

VendTek Systems Inc., a developer and licensor of software for the global prepaid and financial services markets, announces that Peter Read, one of the Company's founders and its Chief Operating Officer, will be retiring from the Company in 2011. Mr. Read will commence his transition in February while continuing to work for the Company throughout the year. The Company has begun the process of recruiting a replacement for Mr. Read.

"Since co-founding the company in 1988 I have had an amazing journey with VendTek. We started out as a local manufacturing company and have evolved into a leading international prepaid transaction software supplier. Our key business initiatives are on track and I believe this is the right time for me to step back from the business operations and begin the next chapter in my life," said Peter Read.
